Enjoy an afternoon at a private home in Santa Monica and discover a left perspective on the immigration debate. Learn about new issues which need to be explored in order to conduct an honest, and informed debate on immigration and combat the noxious tone of the current debate about how to deal with our country’s illegal immigrants.
Journalist Jeffrey Kaye is a longtime contributor to the PBS News Hour, the Huffington Post, LA Times NPR and other outlets. Kaye’s reports and documentaries have earned him numerous national and local awards. He was born in London and lives in Los Angeles with his wife Deborah, a college instructor. They have two daughters.
Instead of fixating on the legal status of migrants, the book instead focuses on why people cross borders. “The better we understand the forces that encourage, benefit from and promote migration,†says Jeffrey, “the better we can develop humane policies.†With a fresh take on a controversial topic, Moving Millions:
Moving Millions: How Coyote Capitalism Fuels Global Immigration challenges common wisdom about why immigrants come to America and what role they play in the economy including the view that immigrants themselves motivate immigration, rather than the policies of businesses and governments in both rich and poor nations.
