A Free Event on Wednesday, June 23rd to tempt every palette will take place at Downtown Santa Monica Farmers’ Market, located at the Intersection of Arizona and 2nd Street. Parking is available in structures on 2nd and 4th street from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Critically acclaimed chefs from some of Santa Monica’s finest restaurants: Roberto Maggioni from Locanda Del Lago, Sal Garcia from Fraiche, and Collin Crannell from The Lobster will participate in a friendly competition hosted by long-standing Farmers’ Market Supervisor, Laura Avery.
The event will challenge each chef’s use of ingredients paired with their knowledge on fine cuisine to produce a cocktail/appetizer, an entrée, and a dessert item using the key seasonal ingredient – peaches. Judges will score a winning dish from each category. The three specialty items each chef concocts will be served month-long at each venue as part of their menu.
Special guest judges will include Carole Dixon from NBC’s The Feast, Hadley Tomecki from Grub Street LA, and Mar Yvette from CitySearch.
The event is being sponsored by Bayside District Corporation. www.downtownsm.com
