The West L.A. Little League 10-11 year old All-star team has advanced to the Southern California State Championship, to be played at Granada Hills Little League. This is a first in League history for the 10-11 year olds. In 1961 the 11-12 year olds lost in the Championship.
They play their Little League games at the Bad News Bears Park at Sepulveda and Ohio during the regular season.
The team was assembled in May and began their post season tournament schedule in early June. They have gathered District 25, Section 4, and California Division 3 North State titles. It’s been an amazing run compiling a 14-2 win/loss record along the way.
This WLA LL team is really something special. They’ve come from behind, played well with a lead, beaten teams that were much bigger, beaten programs that are more established, overcome adversity and played like champions. They’ve done it all.
The West L.A. Little League All-stars are in uncharted territory. They’re blazing a trail for all WLA little leaguers to follow for years to come. One thing is for sure, they’ve blessed us as parents and friends with the same thing they’ve created for themselves – memories to cherish for the rest of their lives.
