Because the MTA is coming to Bergamont Station, this will be the final Santa Monica Auction outside the C2 Gallery after 18 years.
Known for spotlighting, renowned Los Angeles artists, Santa Monica Auctions showcases mid-career and established artists of all mediums such as painting, sculpture, photography, prints and more. This year’s event will feature the work of Andy Warhol, Ed Kienholz, David Hockney, Raymond Pettibon, Pablo Picasso, just to mention a few.
Highlights of the 2012 auction include a 1970’s silkscreen by Andy Warhol of Mick Jagger, signed by both. There is also a rare, complete set of five of the hand pulled four-color silkscreens by rock icon David Bowie.
