The HARC Foundation presents, Command Performance, a Gala Benefit at Gebert Gallery!

HARC Foundation's Susan Marchese with Actor Elliot GouldThe HARC Foundation presents “Command Performance,†a Contemporary Arts Salon Benefit Event Saturday, February 4th, 2012 at 2:00pm

The Gala Benefit and performance will be held at Gebert Gallery, 1345 Abbot Kinney Boulevard (just west of California Avenue) in Venice. Valet parking or free parking as available in rear lots between Abbot Kinney Boulevard and Electric Avenue. The Event will include a Concert, Silent Auction of Artwork and Reception of Wine & Authentic Antipasti, from Mosto Enoteca in Venice. Cocktail attire is requested.

The HARC Foundation (Help Artists & Rehabilitate Children) was established in 1990 with a dual purpose: first, to discover, support, promote and present emerging creative artists from all art disciplines and second, to promote the use of the creative arts as a therapeutic science in the rehabilitation of abused and neglected children. One hundred percent of all individual and corporate donations received go directly to the creative artists. Expenses, goods and services are out-of-pocket donations or provided on a pro-bono basis.

Having worked as a composer/performer for many years, Marchese created The HARC Foundation to help individual emerging creative artists in the U.S. Each year, The HARC Foundation produces exclusive presentation events featuring the artists that are chosen as the winners of The HARC Awards. In addition to presentation of their work, several lucky creative artists every year receive $2,500 to help further their careers, allowing them to continue on their creative path and follow their passion. However, funding has grown slimmer.

Since the economy has affected corporate and patron donations in recent years, “COMMAND PERFORMANCE” was created to help HARC raise money for awarding emerging artisPhotographer Les Mayers, one of the artists donating work to the fundraiserts. Marchese talks about her latest endeavor, “This is the first time we’ve ever held a benefit event like ‘COMMAND PERFORMANCE’, when well-known creative and performing artists have offered their talents to help HARC raise the funding needed to present their annual awards.â€

Artists have donated their works such as Leslie L. Mayers, an emerging artist in the contemporary art scene of Southern California. His work is at the forefront of a new movement that he refers to as “digital impressionism,†and has evolved by combining traditional art techniques with advances in modern technology.

On Saturday afternoon, February 4th at 2:00 PM, “COMMAND PERFORMANCE” will be held at Gebert Gallery, 1345 Abbot Kinney Blvd. in Venice. (http://gebertgallery.com/)

The silent auction will include the works of local creative artists Derrik Van Nimwegen, A.M. Rousseau, Darla Warner, Elana Kundell, Les Mayers, Carol Henry, Candace Biggerstaff, Leo Garcia, and Domenico Foschi.
