The Archer School for Girls (Brentwood) Athletic Department Hosted the Annual Archer Sports Awards Night
The Archer School for Girls (Brentwood) Athletic Department hosted the annual Archer Sports Awards Night (ASAN) for the 2015-16 sports season before an overflow crowd at the Olympic Collection in West Los Angeles. Commemorating a record year in athletics that included five league championships and strong performances in the CIF-SS playoffs, the night also celebrated individual major award winners mixed with entertainment and audience participation.
Archer’s award winning a capella group, Unaccompanied Minors, electrified the crowd with two performances, while live text voting from the attendees for the Play of the Year and Team of the Year came down to mere percentage points.
The Archer Sports Speaker Series interview of sports icon Jerry West was presented in a short music video, while Archer’s own “DJ Richie Rich” kept the night moving with themed songs. Highlighting the evening were the presentation of the Dedication Awards for three sport athletes, and the Major Award Winners for Rookie of the Year (Morgan Dennis ’19), Scholar-Athlete of the Year (Leandra Ramlo ’16) and the 2016 Athlete of the Year (Christian Luhnow’16). The night closed with the traditional Archer Highlight Video.
