The hilarious, family-friendly Rudie-DeCarlo reworking of the classic fairytale is back for the holidays only. The single most requested Playhouse Musical Matinee on three continents, the internationally acclaimed musical offers romantics of all ages the chance to try on the glass slipper and help Cinderella find her happily-ever-after.
The year-end Santa Monica production sees the original Playhouse Cinderella and Prince Charming (Cydne Moore and James Cooper), “graduating†to the roles of zealously well-meaning Stepmother Arabella and lovingly befuddled King Isgood, joined by Actors’ Repertory Theatre members Betsy Albert and Juliet Ladines as the very silly step sisters, Serena Dolinsky as a brand new Cinderella, and Garett Stevens essaying the double role of Kerwin, the King’s shy Valet and handsome Prince Asgood.
Added delights are the outrageously playful period costumes by award-winning designer Ashley Hayes, the singing and dancing woodland creatures crafted by The Attic Room and the heart-warming romance that blooms with the assistance of a glass slipper, a magic wand, and the audience’s eager intervention.
Birthday, Holiday and Tea Parties, hosted by a favorite fairy tale character from the show, are available in conjunction with every performance. “A delight for the entire family!†L.A. SPLASH. . This holiday season, treat your family to the most romantic event of the year and live happily ever after.
