Bob Mackie and Macerich’s Santa Monica Place to Receive 2011 Design Awards From Otis College of Art and Design

Santa Monica Place To Receive Otis Creative Vision Award
Otis College of Art and Design announced today the distinguished recipients of its annual art and design awards. Acclaimed costume designer Bob Mackie, a longtime supporter of the Otis fashion design program, will receive the 2011 Otis Design Legend Award. Art Coppola, CEO of Macerich Company will accept the 2011 Otis Creative Vision Award on behalf of Santa Monica Place, the premier shopping and dining destination that incorporates green-building practices into its modern architecture and day-to-day business.

Bob Mackie and Santa Monica Place will receive their awards at the 29th annual Otis Scholarship Benefit and Fashion Show on May 7, 2011 at The Beverly Hilton Hotel. Over 1,000 leaders in entertainment, fashion, business and finance as well as society patrons, press, celebrities, students, alumni and other supporters are expected to attend the gala. The runway show of student designs is considered one of L.A.’s biggest and best annual fashion shows.

The 2011 event co-chairs are Shelley Reid and Adrianne Zarnegin. This annual event is Otis College’s largest fundraiser, last year grossing $1 million in scholarships for art and design students.
