Brentwood resident Nick Regan served as sound producer on some of the sound tracks that appear in a new CD called “Banned Section,” by Hip hop singer-song- writer, Silvastream.
Regan has been working on Banned Section for months now.
Silvastream (Kenneth Aiken), grew up on the streets of South Central L.A., be- came homeless, and panhandled on Holly- wood Boulevard.
He lived in a foster home and eventually found himself in jail, where he served five years for allegedly selling five dollars worth of dope.
But hard times made him stronger, says Silvastream, and he has now dedicated his life – and music – to smoothing out the harsh and bitter edges of urban life.
His songs are all about positivity, he says. He hopes to “straighten up and smooth out a culture gone hateful and self-destructive with music gone astray.”
Silvastream promises to change the hip hop landscape, filling it with talk about happiness and love (“not sex glorified, but only beautiful love”) joy and integrity.
His new CD includes the songs “Mov- ing Circles,” “Don’t Trip,” and “Down to Earth.”
Silvastream had to make a difficultchoice back in high school. At 6’ 7”, he had potential as a basketball player. But he chose, instead, to go to LA Recording School.
He stuck with music and is now completing his degree in recording arts, and is committed as ever to spreading positivity, sweetness and love.
