Nominations for the People’s Choice Awards were announced today, with The Weeknd, “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Avengers: Age of Ultron” getting the most nods in music, television and movie categories, respectively.
Dwayne Johnson is the only nominee to receive nominations across three different genres: “Favorite Action Movie Actor,” “Favorite Cable TV Actor” and, in digital, for “Favorite Social Media Celebrity.”
“Grey’s Anatomy” is the most nominated TV show with six nods, while “Avengers: Age of Ultron” is the top movie nominee with seven total nominations.
The Weeknd’s five nods include “Favorite Male Artist” and “Favorite Album” for “Beauty Behind the Madness.”
Betsy Brandt (“Life in Pieces”), Marcia Gay Harden (“Code Black”), Raza Jaffrey (“Code Black”), Zachary Levi (“Heroes Reborn”), Christina Milian (“Grandfathered”), Abigail Spencer (“True Detective”) and Ming-Na Wen (“Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.”) joined host Jane Lynch (“Angel From Hell”) and executive producer Mark Burnett at the Paley Center for Media in Beverly Hills to reveal this year’s nominees in music, film, television, and new this year, digital categories.
Fans can vote now through Dec. 3 at http://vote.peopleschoice.com to determine the nominees in all 65 categories, including “Favorite Comedic Movie,” “Favorite Social Media Star,” “Favorite Pop Artist” and “Favorite Dramatic TV Actor.”
Winners will be revealed during a live broadcast from the Microsoft Theatre at L.A. Live on Jan. 6, airing on CBS.
Tickets to the awards show, now in its 42nd year, are available for fans to purchase through AXS.com.
