A special loaded Firehouse Dog will be available at Dodger Stadium tonight — Firefighter Appreciation Night — when the Los Angeles Dodgers meet the Arizona Diamondbacks.
The Firehouse dog is a quarter-pound all-beef hot dog smothered in spicy nacho cheese sauce and topped with jalapeno wheels and flaming hot Cheetos. It will be available at the Extreme Loaded Dog concession areas on the field, loge and reserve levels.
In connection with Firefighter Appreciation Night, Smokey Bear will pose for pictures with fans in the left and right field plazas.
Kenny Landreaux, an outfielder on the Dodgers’ 1981 World Series championship team, will sign autographs in the left field pavilion plaza from 5- 7 p.m.
The national anthem will be sung by Bryce Ryness, the lead in the national tour of the Tony-winning musical “Matilda,” which is playing at the Ahmanson Theatre through July 12.
Basketball Hall of Fame member Lisa Leslie will throw the ceremonial first pitch.
The Military Hero of the Game will be U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. Walter Jimenez of Long Beach who has served in 10 nations and four states on nine assignments in a 23-year career.
Jimenez began his Air Force career as a nuclear missile operations officer in Montana. He later served as a missile test officer, launch director, missile attack early-warning operator, flew spy satellites and was program manager for a major defense weapons program.
Jimenez is stationed at Vandenberg Air Force Base near Lompoc, where he is involved with satellite rocket launches and nuclear missile operations.
Auto gates will open at 4:40 p.m. and stadium gates at 5:10 p.m. for the 7:10 p.m. game. Pregame ceremonies will begin at 6:55 p.m.
