An investigation was continuing today into an alleged incident involving actor Charlie Sheen at a Los Angeles dental office.
Police released few details, other than to confirm that the alleged confrontation occurred Sept. 25 at a dental office within the Los Angeles Police Department’s jurisdiction, LAPD Sgt. Barry Montgomery said.
“It is an ongoing investigation,” Montgomery said.
According to TMZ.com, Sheen was at the dental office for treatment of an abscess, and was sitting in a dental chair. But when a dental technician placed a nitrous-oxide mask on his face, the actor began flailing his arms and struck the technician, the website reported.
The technician told officers that she walked out of the room as Sheen’s security guard entered the room, and a “commotion” followed, TMZ reported.
“Charlie’s personal dentist was there along with the oral surgeon,” according to TMZ. “There was a lot of commotion and the technician says when Charlie’s dentist finally came out, he told her Charlie pulled a knife and went after him. The dentist wasn’t hurt.”
Police were preparing the case for presentation to the District Attorney’s Office for possible prosecution, but want to interview Sheen before doing so, TMZ reported.
A spokesman for Sheen, Jeff Ballard, told RadarOnline.com, “There was no knife and no one inside Charlie’s camp has heard from the LAPD.”
Ballard said Sheen was taking medication for a shoulder injury at the time, but was not under the influence of any drugs.
