Bel Air Investment Advisors, LLC (Bel Air), a leading wealth management advisory firm for high net worth individuals, families, trusts and foundations, has announced that its chief operating officer, Tyler Kelley, was appointed by Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti to the Board of Zoo Commissioners of the City of Los Angeles where he will continue his lifelong advocacy for forest and wildlife conservation.

“We are very proud of Tyler’s considerable leadership in environmental conservation and congratulate him on this commissioner appointment,” said Todd Morgan, senior managing director at Bel Air Investment Advisors. “His contributions are impressive and represent the spirit of community involvement inherent in the Bel Air team.”

The appointment, one of Tyler’s many public service positions, will leverage his long-standing commitment to forest and wildlife conservation and respect within the Los Angeles environmental community to serve the Los Angeles Zoo’s many conservation efforts.

“Tyler Kelley’s invaluable contributions to important conservation causes make him an informed and effective addition to the L.A. Board of Zoo Commissioners,” said Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association Board of Trustee and National Geographic Society, International Advisory Council member, Dr. Richard Sneider.

Marc Mitchell, current member of the Board of Zoo Commissioners of the City of Los Angeles, added, “We are very pleased with the Mayoral appointment of Tyler Kelley to our board — his capabilities and commitment will help enhance our work to support biodiversity education in Los Angeles.”

In addition to this latest commission appointment, Tyler currently serves as an advisory board member at the USC Wrigley Institute for Environmental Studies. He is also a former commissioner and past chairman of the Los Angeles County Commission on Local Government Services. Tyler is the founding chair of Generation Conservation, Conservation International’s support group aimed at engaging the next generation of conservation leaders.

“Tyler’s continued dedication to timely conservation challenges is exemplary for the next generation of conservationists, and I am thrilled to hear of his appointment as an L.A. Zoo commissioner,” said Dr. Russell Mittermeier, president of Conservation international.
