Jace is best known for his role as LAPD Officer Julien Lowe in the TV series The Shield. He also starred opposite Russell Crowe in State of Play and was a recurring character on Southland.

The shooting was reported around 8:30 p.m. on May 19.

The actor stayed on the phone as instructed until LAPD officers arrived and found April Jace dead, sources told TMZ.

He’s due to make his initial court appearance on Thursday, authorities said.

[UPDATE: 8:10 a.m.] According to L.A. County Jail records, Jace was booked for murder at the LAPD’s 77th Street Division. His bail was set at $1 million.
