A recent ruling by a state appellate judge has caused Clear Channel and CBS to turn off digital billboards all across LA.
There are rumors flying around that these big outdoor media companies are now trying to get the LA City Council to rewrite the laws in a way that would make digital billboards legal.
These companies have been known to make campaign contributions to city council candidates, who often say they don’t like digital billboards (but who still want the contributions).
Many citizens consider digital billboards to be a form of blight.
