Suspect: Male black or Hispanic 18-20 years of age, 5’11†, 150 lbs, dark clothing w/ hood.
Victim returned to her residence after shopping. While victim was retrieving her trash bins from the street, a lone suspect ran up to her and sprayed an unknown chemical type substance in her face. While victim was debilitated, suspect tried to remove a large diamond ring from her finger. The victim screamed and suspect fled without property.
A few days later, another woman was attacked on the 200 block of South Anita as she took in her trash cans about mid-day. The assailant sprayed some sort of substance into the face of the elderly victim, and removed a wedding ring, apparently breaking her finger in the process. Police are looking for the assailant, described as a male Latino, who escaped in an orange vehicle.
