Suja Lowenthal has been appointed Manager of Transit Government and Community Relations for Santa Monica’s Big Blue Bus (BBB).
Lowenthal has over 19 years private and public sector experience serving in management positions including Chief of Strategic Planning and Initiatives at the Water Replenishment District and Government Relations and Public Outreach Manager for Central & West Basin Municipal Water Districts. Currently, she serves as a member of the Long Beach City Council and member of the Board of Directors of the Metropolitan Water District.
Prior to being elected to the Long Beach City Council, Lowenthal served on the Long Beach Unified School District Board of Education.
She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics (UCLA), a Master’s in Business Administration (California State University, Los Angeles) and a Doctorate in Policy, Planning and Development (USC).
