On Wednesday, September 12, 2012 the WNBA FIT team, including WNBA All-Star forward for the Los Angeles Sparks Alana Beard, partnered with Jamba Juice for a basketball at the Santa Monica Boys & Girls Club as part the “Team Up For a Healthy America” initiative which provides children with a fun way to learn health and fitness.
“Team Up for a Healthy America is a way for Jamba Juice to engage kids, and adults alike, in living healthy and active lives. We do that in many ways, including: providing exercise insights from Olympic champions, sharing tips on healthier eating, getting kids pledging to do something good for themselves or hosting fitness activities with partners like the WNBA and USA Water Polo,†said Julie Washington, Jamba Juice Senior Vice President and Chief Brand Officer.
“As part of the event, Jamba donated 90 basketballs to seven community centers throughout Los Angeles. When people visit www.myhealthpledge.com and pledge to Team Up by making small, healthy improvements in their lives, Jamba donates $1 toward the purchase of athletic equipment for schools and community groups.”
The more people who pledge and get engaged, the more opportunity Jamba Juice and communities have to support kids through the donation of sports equipment,” concluded Washington.
