Saint John’s Health Center has been making childbirth a special experience since 1942, and on Sunday, May 6, 2012 the Health Center will hold a family-friendly Mother’s Day Celebration in honor of all the mothers who have delivered at Saint John’s along with those who may in the future.
“We are excited to be a part of such an important moment in many parents’ lives,†said Irena Zuanic, RN, Director of Women’s Health at Saint John’s. “This special Mother’s Day Celebration will help us recognize all the amazing mothers in our community.â€
Saint John’s Mother’s Day Celebration (2:30-5:00pm) will be partnered with a NICU Reunion (1:00-3:30pm). Both events will be held in the Tarble Atrium and Dining Court of Saint John’s Howard Keck Center at 2121 Santa Monica Blvd. in Santa Monica.
The Women’s Health and NICU physicians, nurses and healthcare staff will be on hand to celebrate with mothers and their families during a fun afternoon of arts and crafts, music, food, face painting and clowns. Guests will have the chance to tour Saint John’s hotel-like birthing suites and learn more about Saint John’s maternity and neonatal services. Attendees can get information about childbirth and baby care classes as well as speak to a lactation specialist.
There will be food and drinks, giveaways, karaoke, face painting and entertainment for all ages. Guests can talk to registered dietitians, get recipes for healthy child-friendly dishes, relax with a chair massage and much more. Additionally, Magician Mark Paskell will perform at both events.
Saint John’s provides expecting mothers a unique combination of expert, collaborative care delivered with compassion and warmth in a family-oriented setting. The Health Center’s multidisciplinary team approach is designed to make sure that every woman receives comprehensive care from a broad cross-section of well-trained, experienced clinicians.
