Join Bruce Hale, the author behind the popular Chet Gecko mystery series for kids, on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 for a fun program on how he writes and draws the hilarious adventures of his reptilian private eye at the Santa Monica Public Library starting at 3:45pm.
Chet Gecko is a wise-cracking, crime-fighting, fourth grade private eye who loves stinkbug pie, wolf-spider lasagna, and, of course, mystery! The fun begins at 3:45 p.m. in the Martin Luther King, Jr. Auditorium at the Main Library, 601 Santa Monica Boulevard. A book sale and signing will follow. The event is supported in part by the Friends of the Santa Monica Public Library, and is recommended for kids ages seven and older and their families.
This year, Santa Monica Citywide Reads has expanded to include kids, and we’ve selected the Chet Gecko mystery, Trouble Is My Beeswax as our featured book for the 2012 event. Free copies of the book are available at all library branches.
