Joe Praml compiled and will read “Celtic Visions and Dreams: Poetry of Ireland, Scotland and Wales.†Poets include: Patrick Pearse, Seamus Heaney, Samuel Beckett, Thomas Moore, W.B.Yeats, Oscar Wilde, Dylan Thomas, Eavan Boland, Wilfred Owen, John Keegan Casey and other Celtic poets.
Joe was born in St. Paul, MN; graduated from the University of Minnesota (BA in English); Shubert Fellow UofM Graduate School of Theatre; McKnight Foundation Humanities Award for Drama.
Joe moved to London and lived there 14 years working on stage, film, TV, and radio as actor, writer and director. As an actor on the London and UK stage, Joe learned the use of language and voice, which he uses to bring authority and range to his readings. Acting credits in UK include BBC production of John le Carre’s Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy and Smiley’s People with Alec Guinness and Patrick Stewart. Long-Service Member of British Equity. Also freelance journalist, including London ‘s “Time Out†magazine.
In LA, Joe Praml worked as an actor in television and film, including a cameo role in Chevy Chase ‘s comedy classic, Fletch. He was awarded the Eugene O’Neill Centennial Memorial Commendation by the City of Los Angeles for directing two Eugene O’Neill sea plays, Bound East for Cardiff and The Long Voyage Home, during O’Neill centennial in 1988.
