An impressive posse of uniformed First Responders, led by Lt. Greg Doyle of the LAPD, attended the Brentwood Community Council (BCC) meeting on February 6 to support a proposed 185-foot tower to improve emergency communications in the Mandeville Canyon area. The tower would alleviate much of the communications difficulties that firefighters and other First Responders face in the mountainous region. It would also mean an unsightly tower seen from multiple perspectives that raises the ire of every homeowner’s association in the area. An alternative idea floated at the meeting was to have several shorter towers instead of one big one. Eric Edmunds, lawyer for the Brentwood Hills Homeowners Association (BHHA) asked the BCC to support their request for an Environmental Impact Report on the project. A resolution in support of the EIR was approved by the BCC.
