Vista Del Mar Names Bel Air Resident and Philanthropist Brindell Gottlieb to the Board of Directors

Gottlieb, a longtime resident of Los Angeles, is a UCLA graduate who went on to write, direct, perform and produce radio commercials while teaching at Beverly Hills High School in their Adult Education Department.

Inspired by her family, she became an avid philanthropist with a passion for helping children. In memory of her late husband and son, Gottlieb established the Ross Stephen Roberts Scholarship Fund at the Red Cat Theatre and led the renovation of the Mark Taper Forum at the Los Angeles Music Center. In appreciation for her efforts, the Forum lobby was dedicated to Gottlieb and her late husband. Through these experiences she grew motivated to join other organizations such as Vista Del Mar.

Commenting on her appointment to Vista’s Board of Directors, Gottlieb explains “It’s overwhelming what they’ve accomplished at Vista in the last 100 years. And it’s amazing what they hope to accomplish in the future. I’m very proud to be involved.â€

“We are delighted that Brindell has joined our Board,†says Vista Del Mar’s President and CEO Elias Lefferman, Ph.D. “With her tremendous accomplishments in the past combined with her passion for helping children, she will be an invaluable addition to Vista.â€

Adding to her charitable endeavors, Gottlieb serves on the Music Center Board, the Center Theatre Board, the Blue Ribbon Board, and the Opera Board. She is also actively involved with the Tower Cancer Research Center, the Hebrew University, the American Jewish Committee, the Children’s Burn Foundation and has contributed to scholarships at UCLA.

About Vista Del Mar:
Vista Del Mar Child and Family Services was established in 1908 and, over the course of more than a century, has evolved from an orphanage to a union of five specialized agencies working together to provide comprehensive, therapeutic, as well as educational programs and services for children and their families on a picturesque, 18-acre campus in West Los Angeles. These agencies include: Vista Del Mar; Julia Ann Singer Center; Reiss Davis Child Study Center; Home-SAFE (located in Hollywood); and Family Service of Santa Monica (located in Santa Monica). Between the nonprofit’s residential, outpatient, community-based, and education services, Vista Del Mar provides 45 programs to nearly 6,000 children and families annually. Services provided by the agency include, but are not limited to: therapeutic, residential treatment for severely emotionally disturbed youth; private-adoption services for both domestic and international adoptions; community-based foster care; a network of mental-health and case- management services for children at risk of out-of-home placement; a private, special-needs school (K-12); mental-health services to students in schools throughout Los Angeles; therapeutic school and intervention services for children with autism; individual and group counseling for children and families; educational assessments and treatment; child-abuse-prevention services; and early childhood care and provider training.
