ATTENTION COMMUTERS, RESIDENTS, AND BUSINESSES IN THE
VICINITY OF THE SAN DIEGO FREEWAY (I-405) BETWEEN THE SANTA
MONICA FREEWAY (I-10) AND THE VENTURA FREEWAY (US-101)
The contractor will isolate the work zone from freeway traffic by placing concrete barriers (k-rail) in
selected areas on the right hand shoulder of the southbound I-405 freeway from the Ventura Freeway
(US- 101) to the Santa Monica Freeway (1-10)
What: Freeway lane and ramp closures for the placement of concrete barriers (k-rail) on the right
hand shoulder of the southbound I-405 freeway.
When: Night-time closures for selected freeway lane and ramp closures on the southbound I-405
freeway will be conducted in segments and is anticipated to start the night of Thursday, June 3rd, 2010 for approximately six days, weather permitting. Lane and ramp closures will
take place from 7 pm to 6:00 am, with the freeway open to thru traffic.
Where: Southbound I-405 between the Ventura Freeway (US 101) and the Santa Monica Freeway
(I-10). K-rail placement will be conducted in segments along the I-405 freeway.

What to expect:
Detour signs will be posted where ramp closures occur.
There will be the same number of thru traffic lanes as there are currently at the completion of this
activity.
