LAPD West Los Angeles: Update for May 2010
The crimes below are grouped by type and street and listed by hundred blocks not by exact addresses.
Robbery: Someone takes your property from you by force or fear:
One street robbery where a wallet was taken.
LOCATION: 11700 San Vicente Blvd
Prevention: be aware of your surroundings don’t carry large sums of money, and never display your money or jewelry in public.
Burglary: Someone enters a dwelling and removes your property without your permission:
Five residences were broken into. Some doors or windows pried; some left their doors and windows open. Items taken were cash, computer, laptops and stereo.
LOCATIONS: 12600 Montana Ave., 11900 Darlington Ave., 2900 Elvido Dr., 800 S. Wellesley Ave., 500 N. Rockingham Ave.
Prevention: Always lock your home or business and set your alarm.
Grand Theft Auto: Someone takes your vehicle without your permission:
One vehicle was stolen.
LOCATION: 400 N. Bundy Dr.
Prevention: Lock your vehicle, and set your alarm.
Burglary/Theft from Motor Vehicles: Someone enters your vehicle without permission.
Two vehicles were broken into in May. Windows smashed in one, door pried in another. Property taken from the vehicles were laptops, iPod and a backpack.
LOCATIONS: 11600 Goshen Ave. and 11300 Farlin St.
Prevention: Do not leave anything inside your vehicle, always lock and set your vehicle alarm.
Battery/Aggravated Assault: Someone strikes you.
NONE
Prevention: Avoid verbal confrontations, they lead to physical confrontations.
Theft: Someone takes your property without your permission.
Nine Crimes occurred where bicycle, wallet, purse, cash, jewelry, computer equipment and drugs were taken.
LOCATIONS: 12000 Wilshire Blvd, 11900 Montana Ave., 11900 Darlington Ave., 11600 Wilshire Blvd., 11600 Gorham Ave., 800 S. Gretna Green Way, 700 S. Barrington Ave. and 100 S. Granville Ave.
Prevention: Secure all unattended property.
