The Los Angeles County Branch of the International Dyslexia Association hosts a free support group for parents of children and teens with learning disabilities at Kaiser Permanente, 5601 De Soto Ave., Auditorium C (Entrance 5), Woodland Hills, CA 91365 on the third Tuesday of the month during the school year (Sept. – May) from 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM. Each meeting has a speaker and a discussion. The topic for the April 20th meeting is The Hidden Curriculum: Figuring Out the Rules. Everyone is welcome to attend. The Los Angeles County Branch of the International Dyslexia Association is a non-profit 501C-3 organization promoting the scientific and educational research into the study and treatment of the specific learning disability, dyslexia. The Los Angeles County Branch serves Los Angeles, Ventura, Santa Barbara and Orange County. The branch is comprised of professionals, parents, and adults with dyslexia interested in promoting and increasing public awareness, treatment, and remediation of dyslexia and other related learning disabilities. Public awareness is accomplished through workshops, seminars, conferences, informational packets, and a speaker’s bureau.
