This weekend’s schedule is impressive, they hope you’ll join them for a
fantastic Halloween at The Mystery Bookstore. Costumes are encouraged;
they’ll provide the candy! At 12:00 Noon Robert Fate discusses and signs “Baby
Shark’s Jugglers at the Borders”. At 1:30 p.m. Libby Fischer Hellmann
discusses and signs “Doubleback” and Keith Raffel discusses and signs “Smasher: A
Silicon Valley Thriller” At 6:00 p.m. John Connolly discusses and signs
“The Gates”

The Los Angeles Parks Foundation is proud to promote the opening reception
of Fred Rochlin Watercolors, presented by Davida Rochlin Art +
Architecture Pop-Up Gallery. Proceeds will benefit LA City Parks! Join us for
refreshments, appetizers and beautiful depictions of Los Angeles.

An Evening with R. Crumb

Thu, Oct 29, 8 pm – Royce Hall, UCLA Campus, Westwood

In the late 60s, R. Crumbs psychedelic comics including the characters
Fritz the Cat, Mr. Natural, Devil Girl and the popular Keep on Truckin cartoon
propelled him overnight to celebrity status in San Francisco’s burgeoning
underground scene. Now living in France, Robert Crumb makes a very rare
public appearance, joining longtime friend and art editor for The New Yorker,
Franoise Mouly, for a candid discussion about the controversial artists life
and his highly anticipated new project, an illustrated version of Genesis.
