The Grand Prix is coming to Brentwood.
Bicycle enthusiasts of all levels will be competing for cash prizes in Brentwood on August 17. Over 2,000 spectators are expected to watch the race between 7 AM and 4 PM on San Vicente Boulevard. The 2.3 –mile course will begin in front of the Kaufman Library and circle the median from Burlingame to Gorham in Brentwood.
There will be booths featuring food and merchandise around the course.
The $10,000 purse, one of the top five in California, is expected to draw more than 400 amateur and professional cyclists from across the western United States, including an event for children.
The Velo Club La Grange, one of California’s oldest and largest cycling clubs, is producing the event. With over 400 members, the Grand Prix is in its 40th year at locations throughout Los Angeles. The race is making its Brentwood debut this year.
