Westood Fatal Crash Tuesday Morning

One person was killed and two others were seriously hurt in a violent crash in Westwood this morning, police said.

The crash at 10300 Wilshire Blvd. was reported at 1:50 a.m., said Los Angeles police Officer Jenny Hauser. A Chevrolet Camaro reported to have been speeding slammed into a parked van on Wilshire, killing a passenger and seriously injured two other people, including the driver, who were taken to a hospital.

The person who died was a passenger in the front seat. The name of the dead person, described only as a male, was withheld until family notification, the coroner’s office reported.

The crash shut down a stretch of Wilshire Boulevard from Comstock Avenue on the east to Beverly Glen Boulevard on the west until shortly before 8 a.m., according to police. The crash was under LAPD investigation.
