The Los Angeles Sparks will attempt to set the record for the most-viewed WNBA game today when they play host to the San Antonio Stars at Staples Center.

A few thousands seats remain at Staples Center, whose capacity for Sparks games is 19,000, a team official said. An outdoor screen will be set up at Gilbert Lindsay Plaza for fans to view the game and surpass the record of 22,076. The viewing is free, but will be ticketed in order to count toward the record.

The game is set to begin at 4 p.m.

The Sparks have dubbed the game the “#WeAreWomen” game.

The #WeAreWomen Festival begins at noon at the Gilbert Lindsay Plaza on the Los Angeles Convention Center grounds. The festival features performances by the Sparks entertainment team, including the Ole Skool Crew, SparKids dancers and the team’s newest team of hip-hop and break dancers, the Sparks Crew.

There will also be musical performances, vendors and interactive experiences.

Admission to the festival is free.

The Grammy-winning rhythm and blues, soul and hip-hop singer Faith Evans will sing the national anthem and perform during the game. Grammy-nominated rhythm and blues singer and actress Antonique Smith will perform at halftime.

A presentation will be made at halftime to the eight #WeAreWomen honorees and the #WeAreWoman of the Year award will be presented.

Fans were able to nominate women who were deserving of being a #WeAre Woman throughout the season. The #WeAre campaign celebrates everyday women who are pioneers, leaders, activists, teachers, role models and influencers.
