Two juveniles pushed a victim to the ground and stole his cell phone today near Culver City, but were quickly apprehended, police reported.
The robbery occurred about 11:35 a.m. on Watseka Avenue just south of Venice Boulevard in Los Angeles, near the border with Culver City.
Two Culver City patrol officers were in the area and tracked down the suspects, based on information from the victim. They caught up with the pair on Washington Boulevard near Ince Avenue after a brief foot chase, during which the stolen phone was discarded by one of the suspects as he ran.
The officers recovered the phone and returned it to the unidentified victim, and the juveniles were arrested on suspicion of robbery, according to the Culver City Police Department. Their names were withheld because they are underage.
