Military Women In Need (MWIN), a 94 year-old non-profit organization located in West Los Angeles, will host the inaugural Warrior Awards dinner on May 7, 2015 at 5:30 PM to be held at Justice Aviation in the Santa Monica Airport. The jam-packed evening will feature a walk-around dinner by acclaimed Executive Chef Claud Beltran, a wine and beer tasting and a fly-over by the Condor Squadron. Entertainment will be provided by Blue Note Entertainment and New Directions Veterans Choir, the award winning a cappella group who came to fame on America’s Got Talent.
The esteemed honorees for the evening that will be making remarks include Amy Ziering, Academy Award nominated producer of The Invisible War and two-time Emmy winner. Ms. Ziering will be receiving the Warrior Award for Excellence in Media. Boyden E. Rohner, Lt. Commander USNR, Department of Homeland Security will be receiving the Warrior Award for Excellence in Leadership.Jaclyn Tilley Hill, Chair Emeritus, Los Angeles County Quality and Productivity Commission is receiving The Pat DeMond Award. Commissioner Hill is receiving the Award for her long time commitment to Military Women In Need and women veterans.
MWIN continues to remain the only organization in Southern California whose mission is solely dedicated to bridging the gaps by providing financial assistance to women veterans. Today, MWIN’s primary purpose is the prevention of homelessness among female veterans, survivors of veterans and their children.
Based in Van Nuys, the Condor Squadron Officer’s and Airmen’s Association is a unique non-profit organization founded in 1965 by a group of WWII fighter pilots, preserving a piece of aviation history. They fly WWII, North American AT-6 airplanes in formation over parades, memorial services and events commemorating veterans.
