Seems that everyone is publishing a book today – celebs, politicians, even a plethora of reality stars – but the most unusual author with the most intriguing tale to tell, is blonde socialite, Gloria Goldwater, author of “Superfly, My Untold Story of Hip-Hop.”

This petite, charming lady was formerly married to the creator of Archie Comics, and head of the Women’s Anti-Defamation League.

She created the hip-hop influenced “SuperFly” magazine in 1991; and has written a book about her challenging experiences.

Among the performers detailed in this book are LL Cool J, Big Daddy Kane, Ice-T, Madonna, Lady Gaga, and Prince to name a few. Not to mention her experiences with celebs of another sort – Ted Kennedy (there is a whole chapter on him), the Pope, and Barbra Streisand among others. Gloria really gets around!

Last month, she received the Presidential Award from Rev. Al Sharpton, at his 60th birthday celebration.

Sharpton interviewed Gloria on his Sirius radio show, “Keepin it Real,” that same day.

This feisty lady is married to Dr. Lewis Weintraub and lives in Brentwood. Besides loving hip-hop (being one of the earliest supporters of the movement), she loves reading Century City News – so I am selecting her as our Westside Lady of the Month.

You can purchase “My Untold Story of Hip-Hop” Barnes and Noble, Borders, the book’s website, and Amazon.

At another event at the fabulous Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills, Rabbi David Baron, Stanley Black, and Haim and Cheryl Saban were honored at their inaugural gala fundraiser.

More than $3 million was raised to support a new Children’s Screening Center at the Steve Tisch Cinema Center, as well as other community projects, for the final stages of preservation, modernization and restoration of the historic Saban Theatre.
