Debate flyerThe all-volunteer grassroots committee of CivicCare, in partnership with Beth Jacob, will hold the final live candidates’ debate for the 33rd Congressional District tonight, Oct. 28, at Beth Jacob Congregation in Beverly Hills, from 7 pm to 9pm.

The debate will feature Los Angeles Deputy District Attorney Elan Carr and Democratic State Senator Ted Lieu. Rabbi Abraham Cooper, Associate Dean of the Simon Wiesenthal Center will be the moderator.

The 33rd Congressional district seat was left open by retiring Congressmember Henry Waxman and candidates Ted Lieu and Elan Carr will debate each other on issues relating to the Jewish community and beyond.

California’s 33rd Congressional District, stretches from Los Angeles’ South Bay up the coast to Malibu and from Santa Monica through Brentwood, Bel Air, Beverly Hills and into Hancock Park. The election for these candidates will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2014. For additional voter information about the election, visit www.civiccare.org.

This event will be free of charge to the public with the goal of increasing voter education and turn out and RSVP is required at www.bethjacob.org/debate.

“We are proud to have such a breadth and diversity of co-sponsors for this important community forum,” said Adeena Bleich, CivicCare Founder. “It is inspiring that so many organizations are coming together to advocate and encourage the community to get out and vote.”

No candidates are being endorsed and no political parties involved.
