USC professor to hold six-week course on jazz music at Brentwood library

USC Thornton School of Music Professor Dr. Thom Mason, DMA, will be educating the public about his specialty through a six-week course entitled “Jazz & Swing from A to Z: The Story of America’s Music.”

As the founder of the Jazz Studies Department, Dr. Mason will be able to provide a plethora of information for his audience.

The course is scheduled to take place every Thursday from 1 pm to 2:30 pm in October and early November. Dates are as follows: Oct. 2, Oct. 9, Oct. 16, Oct. 23, Oct. 30, and Nov. 6.

The classes will be sponsored by the USC Emeriti Center College and will be held at the Donald Bruce Kaufman – Brentwood Brach Library – Los Angeles Public Library in the Samuel Pinkus Room.
