Vintner Christian Borcher delighted the palettes of St. Matthew’s parishioners at a fundraiser held in a private, Pacific Palisades home on Saturday, January 28, 2012. Borcher served up a delectable sampling of Audelssa’s wines (listed below) and donated $50.00 to the St. Matthew’s Outreach Programs for every case of wine that was ordered that evening.
“We were delighted to be able to support a charitable cause and share wines we love with new people,†said Borcher of the evening.
Wines poured in the Palisades were:
2009 Chardonnay, $28
2007 Cabernet Sauvignon, $40
2008 Summit Bordeaux Blend, $52
2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve, $90
2008 Tephra, $28 (Cab Sauvigon/Syrah blend)
2009 Summit Reserve, $125 (Merlot, Cabernet Franc blend)
Audelssa is a boutique winery high in the Mayacamas Mountains between Napa and Sonoma. The winery makes only a few hundred barrels of wine each year from its organic vineyards, employing old word gentle winemaking techniques and aging their wines in French oak barrels inside their 18,000 square foot cave carved out of a solid rock hilltop behind the winery.
Not available in stores, Audelssa’s wines are only available through the winery itself.
Clearly Audelssa and Borcher have a winning formula; great wine and helping great causes.
